I started JD Consulting because, after more than a decade of working in the human resources field, I’d seen far too many small and medium businesses struggling for lack of basic HR functions. Particularly in these litigious times, a single lawsuit can cripple an otherwise thriving small business. And even when a company has done everything right, if they haven’t documented anything then they don’t have a way to protect themselves in court.

Having worked extensively with the recruiting, hiring, and termination process in both private and government sectors, I bring my clients a wealth of knowledge about how to manage staff recruitment legally. Not only am I up-to-date on the relevant laws, I have seen first-hand how employment lawsuits arise, and how they are won or lost.

Most recently, through my extensive recruiting experience, I have noticed that job seekers need help with resume formatting and do not know what to include and what not to include on a resume.  A lot of job seekers short-change their skills and do not target the right job market when writing their resume, which has resulted in losing out on great job opportunities.  Furthermore, most job seekers are not aware of all of the websites, career centers and resources that are available for searching for jobs.  Lastly, they need a little assistance with their interviewing and verbal skills, so that they can land that dream job!

I bring over 19 years of human resources experience as a Human Resources Manager, Generalist and Recruiter in the private, non-profit and government sectors and union and non-union environments. I have assisted organizations spanning from the medical field, to secondary and higher education, engineering, logistics, security, manufacturing and construction. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and Leadership from the University of Illinois, a Master of Arts in Business Management and Leadership and a Master of Arts in Human Resources Development from Webster University. I also have experience as an Adjunct Professor at Lindenwood University, where I have shared my knowledge and experience with students in the Business and Human Resources disciplines. Lastly, I serve in the Illinois Air National Guard as a Major, with experience in Human Resources and Health Administration.
